This is (we think) the world's best 'Link in Bio' feature. You get to create your own custom URL, customized mini web site, social links, web links, scheduled links and get deep analytics about performance all for free.

+ Why is this free?

You're trying to run a business or promote yourself. You don't need to be nickled & dimed to death for the basic materials of Internet Influence.

If you are serious and working hard to promote your brand, friends, partners, or social agenda, we are your hard working friend helping you do it with our tools.

We will be rolling out many features in the future that will help us pay for our Kid's tablets and kicks. Don't worry about us.

+ Getting Started

It's simple:

  1. Log in to MY.AO.IM with Facebook
  2. Create your custom url: YOU.AO.IM.
  3. Create your social links and any other links you want.
  4. Customize your look till you're happy.
    -- Change your profile pic
    -- Add a background image
    -- Change your fonts
    -- Change your button styles It's your site!
  5. Reorder your links so it makes sense
  6. Drop YOU.AO.IM in all of your bios
  7. Go to MY.AO.IM any time to check your traffic.

Later:

  1. Create scheduled links that work only when you need them
  2. Create redirect links that you can paste into anything you are publishing to track the traffic that is generated there.
  3. Check your detailed analytics to see how your work is performing.

+ How Many Links Can I Create?

We don't have a fixed limit. Try to be respectful. We want you to run your business and drive as much traffic as you can.

What's 'responsible'?

If you have scores or hundreds of links that are well-used or schedule links that are used, great! If you have thousands of links that are never used, you might get a polite nudge from us ;-)

+ What Can I NOT do with this?

  • You cannot use our service to drive traffic to anything illegal.
  • You cannot use this service to market directly to children.
  • You cannot use this service to track, harras, or otherwise attack anyone. BE NICE, we are letting you use this for free.
  • Don't link AO links to AO links. Not only is this bad behaviour but you might just cost yourself a lot of clicks.

+ How long before a click is accrued to my totals?

Usually no more than a minute or two and that's the high end. It should happen pretty quickly.

+ Will the links redirect quickly?

They certainly should. Those links are distributed all over the Earth to be as close to your user as possible (and fast). So once a user clicks a link, it will be cached for future redirection. This is also why the click counts might take a minute. They might be coming in from anywhere in the world. Clicks and redirects are not like literally coming to our home servers for action on every click.

+ I have a suggestion!

OK! If it's a POLITE suggestion ;-) please send it our way. If we like it we might build it! You might be directing a dev team! Of course, we have to say the legal stuff: ANYTHING YOU SUBMIT BECOMES THE PROPERTY OF AO.IM, INC. AND WE HAVE NO OBLIGATION TAKE ANY ACTION.

+ What's the difference between VIEWS and CLICKS?

Views are visits to your [you].AO.IM page. These are like sessions. So if you refresh it over and over it won't likely change much. It's counting that a unique person came and saw your AO.IM page. And uniqueness is a combination of browser / platform / IP address and Time. So (we feel) the same person returning in an hour or two should count as a new view. But not like every 5 minutes.

ACTIONS These are the number of clicks you are getting. It's how we (and you should be) measuring your influence. If you can get people to click, you are driving traffic around the Internet. One Viewer can make multiple ACTIONS. In general we design it in a way that an ACTION cannot be made by the same user over and over. So a way to think about it is if a user goes to your site and clicks all of your links you will get +1 VIEW and +(number of links) ACTIONS.

So these metrics are ways for you to publicly show your Influence! Drive these numbers as high as you can!

+ Why are Views and Actions on my home page?

We do this because we think this is showing your power as a publisher of content. Just like your posts or streams have Likes or Shares next to them on some platforms, your site will always show how well you are doing driving traffic (influence) on the Internet.

Your follower or fan counts on other platforms demonstrate your influence on that platform. These numbers show your influence off of those platforms.

We want you to drive those numbers as high as you can. It's why we are here.
